  • John Allen May

    Lead Pastor


    John Allen is the founding pastor of Eastpoint Church. He is passionate about expository preaching and personal discipleship. He seeks to equip believers to carry out the great commission to make disciples of all nations.


    In August of 2011 John Allen moved to Desoto County from Wyatte, Mississippi.  He has been married to his beautiful wife Austin since January of 2008. They have four energetic boys named Layton, Keller, Grayson, and Dawson, and a daughter named Lola.


    He has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Delta State University, a Masters of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently enrolled at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary working on a doctor of ministry.

  • Josh patterson

    Family Pastor


    Josh grew up in Tupelo, MS. In 2004, he earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in Education from The University of Mississippi. He has been a public school teacher since that time, and currently teaches in DeSoto County Schools. He married his wife, Amy, in 2007. They have three children, Sophie, Andrew, and Susannah. He answered the call to ministry in 2008, and has served on staff in two different churches before coming to Eastpoint when it launched in 2012. Josh earned a Master’s of Arts in Religion from Liberty University in 2015.

  • Matt King

    Worship Pastor


    Matt is originally from Water Valley, Ms. Shortly after getting married, he and his wife Anna moved to Desoto County in 2011 to help launch Eastpoint. He and Anna have one daughter named Davy.  


    Matt has spent the past 15 years traveling the country and leading for various churches and ministry organizations. During that time he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Blue Mountain College, and is also a graduate of the worship leader training school Ten Thousand Fathers. In all avenues, Matt’s desire is to see individuals grow deeper in their relationship with The Lord as they live a lifestyle of worship in response to the Gospel.

  • Will Kassner

    Lay Pastor


    Will Kassner is the co owner and writer at Crew + Co. He is married to Courtney and together they have three kids, Crew, Grey, and Sutton. Will graduated from University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Management and with Masters of Divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary.


    Will is passionate about family ministry, finding joy in everyday life, and really good coffee.

  • Stephen Krumalis

    Lay Pastor


    Stephen has been involved at Eastpoint Church since 2011 when he was a pastoral intern. He and his wife Sammi married in 2013 and moved to Noblesville, Indiana a couple years later to be involved in church planting. They moved back to Desoto County in 2019 with their 2 children Landry and Ezra. Stephen has a bachelors degree from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and a Masters in Theological Studies (Christian Counseling) from Midwestern Theological Seminary. 

  • Tyler smith

    Youth Minister


    Tyler grew up in DeSoto County and after serving in the United States Marine Corps, he returned to North Mississippi where he married his wife Kimberlee in 2020. Tyler joined Eastpoint Church's staff in the role of student minister in January of 2023. Tyler is passionate about discipleship, biblical studies, and biblical teaching and he has a desire to bring these disciplines to the lives of Eastpoint’s students. Ultimately, he is passionate about equipping the next generation with the biblical tools needed to navigate life as they grow up and move on to wherever God takes them.

  • Elizabeth akin

    Parent's Day Out Director


    Elizabeth has lived in Desoto County for 25 years. She is a graduate of Mississippi State with a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood. She has a Masters Degree from Arkansas State in Curriculum and Instruction. She was a former teacher before coming on staff as the PDO Director.  She and her husband, Taylor, have been married since 2015, and they have one son. She has been a member of Eastpoint since 2016. Eastpoint PDO is a Christ-centered ministry of Eastpoint Church designed to serve families by using group education to teach children to know God through His Word and to love and honor Him with their lives.

  • Teresa massongill

    Children and Preschool Director


    Teresa was born in Ohio, and spent her childhood in east Tennessee, Georgia and North Carolina, before moving to west Tennessee. She earned an Associates Degree in Data Processing from Dyersburg State Community College. She and her husband, Monte, have been married since 1986 and have seen their family of 2 grow to a family of 10. 

    Teresa has served for over 30 years teaching in preschool and children’s ministry.  She has served on staff at 2 previous churches prior to joining the Eastpoint staff in 2018. Her vision in ministry is to come alongside parents and provide an encouraging and loving environment, where God can use His people to help all children grow in their understanding of Who He is, their great need for Him, and bring them to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

  • Amelia Stroud

    Administrative Assistant


    Amelia was born and raised in Desoto County, MS. She and her husband, Paul, have been married since 2012 and they have 5 children. She has been a member at Eastpoint for 8 years before joining the staff in 2022.
